Here is a preliminary Job Description - The ideal candidate will be one who...

  • acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior and is seeking to bring others into a closer, personal relationship with the Lord;
  • is proficient in the Scriptures;
  • works well with children and adults;
  • is knowledgeable of the Anglican/Episcopal ethos; and
  • is experienced in Christian Formation.

    1. Responsibilities
    A. Under the direction of the rector, and in consultation with the Christian Formation Committee, the Director will plan, develop and coordinate all Christian Education and Formation programs with the exception of the adult programs, including, but not limited to, Sunday School, Wednesday Evening Programs and Vacation Bible School.

    B. Under the direction of the rector, and in consultation with the Christian Formation Committee, the Director will assist the rector in developing Christian Education and Christian Formation programs for adults.

    C. Recruit, with the assistance of the Committee, adult volunteers to teach Sunday School classes, Wednesday evening classes and Vacation Bible School.

    D. Oversee nursery care on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings and Holy Days as announced (including arranging for substitute workers when necessary).

    E. Oversee "Children's Chapel."

    F. Audit and order Christian Education and Formation supplies and resources for all ages.

    G. Submit a year-end report to the rector, vestry and congregation.

    H. Attend staff meetings.

    2. Compensation and expectations

    A. The Director reports to the rector.

    B. It is expected, except for good cause prevented, that the Director will attend all staff meetings, Sunday School and Wednesday evening programs.

    C. Compensation for this position is $1,000 per month (payable on the 15th and 30th). The position is for 15 hours a week.
