The Vestry

The Vestry acts as a board of "elders" in the parish, and along with the rector, are responsible for the well being of the parish.

February Vestry Minutes

"The property and affairs of the Parish shall be under the control and management of the Vestry, which includes the Rector, consistant with the Constitution and Canons of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina and the Episcopal Church" (By-Laws). The Officers of the Vestry are the Senior Warden, the Junior Warden, the Clerk of the Vestry and the Treasurer. There are eleven standing committees, with a twelvth (Lake Wylie) being considered for inclusion in the By-Laws.

Building & Grounds
In charge of all aspects of our buildings and grounds, seeing that the buildings are in proper repair and the grounds are properly maintained. This committee also has the responsibility of insuring that memorial gifts and furnishings are in harmony with the character of the Parish

Christian Formation
Under the direction of the Rector and the Director of Christian Formation, this committee establishes and implements the Christian Education and Formation programs of the Parish.

E.C.W. and the Men's Club At this time, the Vestry person is the liason between these two groups and the Vestry.

Parish Life
The purpose of this committee is to strengthen the bonds of the parishoners of the Parish to promote a sense of community. Most often, this is done through opportunities for fellowship (Foyer Groups, Dinner Club, etc.).

Hospitality & Concierge
This committee insures that visitors to the Parish are made to feel welcome, and assists the Parish in attracting new visitors.

Finance
Oversees the finances of the Parish, supervises the office of the Treasurer, and with the assistance of the Treasurer, establishes the budget, oversees the Parish investments and makes sure the Parish maintains proper insurance.

Missions & Outreach
Investigates, recommends and implements programs outside of the Parish so that we might be the Body of Christ in the World. This committee also assists the Rector in the area of Pastoral Care.

Stewardship
Assists the Rector with the education of parishoners in the area of Christian Stewardship and conducts the yearly stewardship campaign for the operating budget of the Parish. It also works to encourage the giving of time and talent to the Parish.

Worship
This committee is responsible for, and is the liason for the various lay ministries (the Choir, Acolytes, Lectors and the Altar Guild) in the church as they pertain to the liturgy.

Lake Wylie
This committee was established in 2008 to serve as a liason to the Lake Wylie congregation.
